I provide innovative leadership and management of the academic programs to foster a strong commitment to student learning and academic excellence. My current research focuses on writing program assessment, the importance of mentoring, labor issues in academia, and the use of marginalia in reading comprehension.

For over 25 years, I have served as the Chair/Co-Chair of the Research Network Forum [RNF] of the Conference of College Composition and Communication [CCCC]. The RNF provides a platform for composition and rhetoric scholars to learn the latest research in the field and allow participants to share their current projects in small thematic roundtables. RNF meets annually during CCCC’s pre-convention workshops and draws 300+ participants. Since 2007, I have written annual grants which provided funding to cover all of RNF’s programming expenses.
